Your models. Your machine. Your agent.
OpenUnum is a local-first framework for autonomous AI agents that can act, remember, verify, recover, and keep working on hardware you control. Run local models by default. Add cloud models only when you choose.
The OpenUnum framework source is private. The OpenUnum installer is public: runtime builds for Linux (x64, arm64) and Windows (x64) install from https://install.corpunum.com without repository access; macOS installs from source, with access on request. Four companion projects are open source on GitHub: unumsearch, OpenLunum, unumS22linux and UnumPingPong.
Start here
- Try it (beta): Install the OpenUnum runtime on Linux or Windows from the public installer. Early development build.
- See what works: Status and evidence for every project: what is live, what is experimental, what is private.
- Collaborate or evaluate: Source access for evaluation, partnerships, the hardware we run, and what to send.
- Follow the work: The lab journal, written as it happens, failures included. Searchable, with RSS.
Public projects
- unumsearch (Public, Apache-2.0, Live): Fast, always-fresh indexed file and code search for local directories, written in Rust.
- OpenLunum (Public, Apache-2.0, Experimental): Write down what a sentence means, once, in a small language a machine can check. Then say it again, in any language.
- unumS22linux (Public, Apache-2.0, Experimental): Native Linux on a Samsung Galaxy S22 (Exynos 2200), with Unum living on the phone.

The model should not own the agent.
Models can change. Your runtime should remain yours. OpenUnum keeps execution, tools, memory, permissions, verification, recovery, and audit in a user-controlled layer—then routes work to the models best suited to it.
How it all fits.
OpenUnum is one core with many hands: a small brain on the NPU, memory that can be checked, local models on the lab's own GPU, dozens of skills and a hundred-odd tools, media plugins, and companion projects built right into it. The system map draws all of it, checked against the repositories, and plays a piece of work across it step by step.
